Volvo V60 D6 2015-18 Hybrid - The well secured boot
Came back from a 6 week trip away to find my boot wouldn't open which made getting the bags in the boot a touch tricky.
Once suitably back home I was able to take a look and with the aid of a wiring diagram I found online of a similar car I found the following:
On the lock plug: Pin 1 (black) 12v actuates the solenoid to unlock.
Pin 2 (black/orange) is a common earth
Pin 3 (black) 12v signal when boot is unlocked from microswitch in lock.
From the tail gate switch: Pin 1 (black - Green) 12v supply, sends signal to unlock door when bridged to earth.
Pin 2 (black/orange - blue) common earth.
Pin 3 (black - red) 12v supply, doesn't send signal to unlock door when bridged to earth.
So after a bit of wiggling and logic I decided to take the wire behind the black trim that goes from the boot switch to pin 3 and splice it at a particularly tight bend.
This solved the issue and all went back together without issue.
Incidentally I was able to trigger the boot release once I had this wiring diagram by jumping as described above. I tried unbolting the lock mechanism from the inside first which was unsuccessful although if you were a bit brutal I think you might succeed at the cost of your paint.
